The Heart of Family by Kirk & Chelsea Cameron
Teacher: Brent & Rebecca Skipper
Location: Sojourner’s CG Rm.

Not your average teachers Kirk and Chelsea Cameron have been married for over 25 years and are the parents of six kids. They’ve learned faith-based principles that have allowed them to build a strong, thriving marriage while maintaining a healthy family. In this course, they’re teaming up for the first time to share those principles with you! Our culture needs healthy marriages and thriving families We can’t afford to get marriage, family, or parenting wrong! Take a look around. Marriage and families are crumbling everywhere as society de-emphasizes their importance. Divorce has become an easy alternative to working things out. In fact, according to the CDC, the United States averages one divorce about every 38 seconds. Forty-three percent of children are growing up without a father, and studies show children of divorce suffer academically, mentally, and physically. Overall, our culture is suffering as God’s plan for the family is eroded. We can’t afford to get marriage or family wrong. But if we transform our marriages and families — if we revive them into a source of strength and power — we can change culture. The statistics show that when a husband and wife put God at the center of their marriage they are not only less likely to divorce, but they’re also happier. Heaven starts in the home and it flows out from there.

The God You May Not Know by David Jeremiah
Teacher: Tom Daniel
Location: Seniors Still Serving CG Rm.

Develop an intimacy with God you may never have known. Discover God’s character and attributes as never before. Encounter the holiness, the unlimited power, and the presence of the God you worship! Because our personalities inevitably conform to our gods. We have witnessed this down through history. When we worship inferior versions of God – money, status, security, power, pleasure, you name it – we become like our idols. If your god is money, you’ll become materialistic. If your god is sex, you’ll become increasingly sensual. If your god is yourself, you’ll become more self-focused. But if your God is the almighty Creator of Scripture you’ve got a lifetime of joy ahead of you. So it is no exaggeration to say that the study of God is the supreme study of a lifetime. It lifts our thoughts, steadies our nerves, purifies our motives, expands our confidence, and strengthens our influence. It’s the greatest subject we could ever study, for God is the apex of all reality. One of the reasons we don’t love God as much as we should is because we don’t know Him as well as we ought. Trying to comprehend the person of God is like trying to capture all the galaxies of the universe in a child’s prism. Yet the Bible encourages us to try, for God seeks to be known. In this teaching series, I want to personally introduce you to the God you may not know—to His knowledge, holiness, all-pervasive presence, unlimited power, love, and the other qualities that make Him who He is. Knowing our eternal God changes our daily lives—and He is well worth knowing, for He alone is worthy of all praise!

The Book of James Led by Francis Chan
Teacher: Sylvia Daniel
Location: God’s Warrior’s CG Rm.

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who’ve faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.

Francis Chan unpacks the dense truth contained in the book of James in front of the iconic backdrop of San Francisco, the city where he lives and ministers. Through 12 sessions, Francis works through James verse-by-verse, challenging followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God and His Word, to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.
